FIELDS

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Safety is the most important part of any youth sports activity, and it is the responsibility of everyone involved.

When fields are open and in playable condition, and an inclement weather event arises, please use caution and common sense. If we fall under an extreme weather event such as a tornado warning, we will utilize our website, social media, and our text alert system to notify of any closures and cancellations. League directors and coaches will also disseminate this information to parents. However, when sporadic weather events occur, and their duration and location is uncertain, we will generally attempt to allow activities to proceed with caution, even if delayed or interrupted. In these instances, we allow coaches to make their own determinations on whether or not to attempt a practice which may be delayed and/or interrupted. During games, referees and other officials ALWAYS make the final decision.

If you see lightning, ALWAYS leave the field and go to a covered area. Remain away from the fields until 20 consecutive minutes have passed without a lightning strike.

REMINDERS:

  • Please make sure to turn off all lights at both complexes if you are the last team on the fields.

  • Please understand that your team may practice ONLY during their assigned time at their assigned location. Any games scheduled should not interfere with a practice. If this has to happen, the teams with practices must be contacted, and agree to be without their space, before the game can be scheduled.

  • Field closures are announced via our social media accounts, the home page of this website, and via our text message alert system. (Instructions for the text alert system can be found on our home page, under the field status widget).
